For hostels

More charging than your dorm sockets can give.

In a shared dorm, a few sockets serve a room full of guests. An Emperium Power station at reception or in the common room lets guests rent a powerbank with a contactless card and charge in their bunk, in the common room or out exploring.

01 Why it fits

Why hostels add a station.

  • /01

    Less queuing for sockets

Guests who cannot get to a socket rent a powerbank instead, so fewer phones and cables crowd round the few sockets there are.

  • /02

    Charge that travels

Travellers rely on their phones for maps, bookings and transport. A powerbank goes with them for the day and comes back with them in the evening.

  • /03

    Works when reception is quiet

Guests rent and return powerbanks themselves at the station, so it keeps working while your team is busy elsewhere.

02 Placement

Where a station works in a hostel.

Reception

Reception

Every guest passes it when they arrive, head out and come back, so it is the easiest place to find.

Common room

Common room or kitchen

Where guests gather in the evening and plan the next day, often with phones on low battery.

Sites

Several buildings

Hostel groups can discuss a station for each building, with placement agreed for each one.

03 How it works

What your guests do.

A guest presses Start on the station, taps a contactless card and takes the powerbank that is released. They charge in their bunk or take it out for the day, then slot it back into the station when they are finished. See the four steps.

04 FAQs

Questions we are asked.

Our dorms already have sockets. Why add a station?

Sockets are fixed to the wall and shared between beds. A powerbank lets a guest charge in their bunk or on the move, and leaves the sockets free for others.

Does our reception team need to run it?

No. Guests rent with a contactless card at the station and return the powerbank there themselves. Your team does not lend cables or take payments.

Where should the station go?

Somewhere visible, near a power socket, that guests pass every day: usually reception or the common room. We agree the exact spot for each site.

Can we have a station in each of our hostels?

Yes. Tell us how many locations you have and the towns or cities they are in, and we will discuss the right setup for each.
